15mm Brunswick Infantry

It is always a challenge to make the all-black Brunswick uniforms look good on the table, but I think I have done a decent job.  The fabric gets a very slight highlight of DecoArt's "Charcoal Grey."  It is subtle, but it gives the impression of depth.

The infantry for John's armies is complete!  Whew!  I have painted nearly a thousand foot figures since January.  The work bench currently has mounted British commanders and artillery.

Progress continues on John's army. The infantry are nearly all done.  I have painted almost 1,000 foot so far this calendar year!

28mm Republican Roman Generals

All of my recent 28mm ancients gaming has been with Commands and Colors on 5" hexes.  The rules work exceptionally well with colorful miniatures.

I have been adapting my DBx-based ancients to the rules, and the last change is to provide smaller command bases.  These three generals are all I need for Republican Romans.

 

The Napoleonic commission is still in full swing.  I hope to have the Dutch-Belgians on the blog within the next week!

15mm British Foot Guard, Rifles, and Rockets!

The blog has been quiet, but I have been busy as a (bzzz) bee.  John's Waterloo army will have two battalions of foot guards and two battalions of rifles.

The AB Miniatures rocket artillery came without actual rocket artillery.  I cannot find any castings for this anywhere in their range, so I broke out the modeling supplies and scratchbuilt a couple of rocket launchers.

Long Drought

The blog has been quiet, but not for lack of painting.  I have been putting in a lot of 4-6 hour days at the painting desk, trying to push through two large commissions before the end of summer.  They are progressing, but not nearly as quickly as I had hoped

I hope to have more content for the blog soon.  In the meantime, here are some 6mm ACW troops I painted in December.  I love these little Baccus strips, and I look forward to some day getting them on the table.
