Giant Commission VI -- French Guard Infantry

Here is the last of the French infantry, 72 members of the Imperial Guard.  I used the invaluable Historie and Collections book as my main resource, with additional details drawn from Rousselot.  Tony Barton's sculpting really shines here, as he depicts the guard in all the glory of their full dress.

Next up will be the French artillery.  I have painted 588 French infantry in 2 1/2 months.  It will be nice to have a change of pace.

Giant Commission V -- French Light Infantry

Here are the 90 French legere infantry, all painted and ready for basing.  I painted enough for six stands of skirmishers, two stands of voltiguers, two stands of carabiniers, and eight stands of chasseurs (with command).  I always enjoy painting legere.  The uniforms just look sharp.

Next up is the guard infantry.

Giant Commission IV -- Based French Line Infantry

Here are all 414 line infantry glued to their bases.  Did I mention this is a huge project?  This is just the line infantry for one of five nations.

Those primed figures in the background are the light infantry.

Giant Commission III -- French Line Fusiliers

This is the third bunch of French infantry, and this marks the end of the French line infantry regiments.  There are 70 figures in this batch.

First are 30 French fusiliers loading and firing.

Next are thirty French fusiliers advancing.

Finally there are ten "enthusiastic" French line infantry.  I did a simple paint conversion on the elite company men, along with cutting off their shako plumes, to make them fusiliers.

Next up are 72 French legere infantry.

Giant Commission II -- French Line Fusiliers

The blog has been quiet, but my brush has been busy.  Yesterday I finished up the second bunch of French infantry for my big Napoleonic commission.  Here are 212 figures, all AB Miniatures.

This puts my total at 356 foot figures, just over 10% of the total infantry in the commission.
