They have been a couple weeks coming, but here are the rest of the Gauls for Glenn's army. Most of these figures are from A&A Miniatures, but there is a good leavening of Relic.
Spears are from North Star. Shield transfers are from Little Big Men. I had to get creative with the shield transfers to get them all to fit these shields.

That makes for 70 Gallic foot and 16 Gallic horse, and now I am done with Gauls. Thank Dyaus Pitar. Tomorrow I start on the Numidian contingent.
They are superb. Dean
ReplyDeleteI am speechless.
ReplyDeleteThis Gallic army has to be one of the finest in the miniatures world.
I truly can't wait to get them onto the table at a major con.
Now I have to think about running a game at Historicon this year. These guys deserve to be on display.
Glorious! May they trample all enemies underfoot and then drink themselves to death in celebration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting!!
ReplyDeleteDamn! I love your paint style!
ReplyDeleteBTW - Great work with the shield transfers Scott. During the acquisitions portion of the project, I changed my mind a couple of times about which gallic shields to use. I ultimately decided to go with all Renegade shields in order to give the figures a sense of all being the same scale. Unfortunately the transfers I had were for a couple of different manufacturers by that point. The downside was that the fit is a bit off. The upside is that there is more variety.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making it work!
Shields on these are gonzo! Are you using a white basecoat? The colours are so bright :)
ReplyDeleteThey look fantastic. Shields especially look great. They put my 10mm Gauls to shame...
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting. I like the way you put paterns within the checks on the clothing -- really brings their clothing to life.
ReplyDeleteVery Nice! Looks like 2012 is off to a good start.
ReplyDeleteWow they are fantastically painted very, very, very nice
ReplyDeleteSuch a vibrant force of Gallic warriors. Wonderfully done - congrats!

I'm slowly amassing the figures I need for some 2nd Punic War diorama work. I had intended to keep it as strictly Roman and Carthaginian as I possibly could, but your photos make it very hard to stop myself from including Gallic contingents. Beautiful work.
