Giant Commission -- German Infantry Command

I'm nearing the finish line on my 288 German infantry.  Today I put the finishing touches on these 33 command figures.

I love GMB's flags for these guys.  I've never seen a better range of flags in 15mm.  I have less love for Austrian barber poles.  They look sharp, but they are a pain to paint.

Austrian drummers have a cool diagonal black and yellow design on the drum bands.

I painted three different shades of grey on the officers' coats.

Tomorrow I will start my white highlighting on the mass of marching infantry.

  1. You are insane, Scott! How can you paint those flag poles in 18mm? They look incredible. All of the tiny details are perfect and spot-on.

    1. I could use a little more oil in my painting elbow. It's getting sore!

  3. I am in agreement with the other two fellas! I paint my Austrian flags poles black. No barber poles for me. I do paint the drum rims properly, though. Your results do look great. The GMB flags are terrific

    1. Thanks, Jon! I use my smallest brush to paint the barber poles, and I do it very carefully.
