28mm Achaemenid Persians: Light Infantry

 

The Persian army gets four units of javelin-armed skirmishers. For these troops, I went with a more subdued color palette, figuring that these troops would be drawn from the peasantry.

I am getting close to done with this army! I have one unit of chariots, one unit of light horse archers, and two units of slingers left to go. After that, I can move on to the Greeks!

28mm Achaemenid Persians: Light Cavalry

My Persian army needs four units of light cavalry. The rules call for three bases per unit. Why did I do four? I have no idea.

28mm Achaemenid Persians: Elephants

One Commands and Colors Ancients scenario requires five (5!) elephant units. Fortunately, these Persian elephants are generic enough to be used for pretty much any classical army.

My camera gave me some very washed out looking photos, but these can at least give an idea of the spectacle. I cannot wait to get all then elephant models on the table at once!

 

The Persian light cavalry are also done. I should have some pictures of them in the next couple of days. I am nearing the finish line on this army!
