I have been plugging away on the commission. I painted all 166 French horses in one go. Now I have started on the riders. First up were the hussars.
Glenn is making each stand a regiment, so you see here eight groups of three horsemen for hussar regiments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 11.
Next up are eight regiments of chasseurs a cheval.
Wow! These are truly magnificent. The colors and the detail are just stunning.
ReplyDeleteScott - You are a master!
Thanks, Glenn! They were a lot of fun.
DeleteSo inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Blancard. I have enjoyed your 28s!
DeleteThe bays are outstanding! Are you using Autumn Brown or something even lighter?
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
Great point, Jonathan. I was so focused on the colorful riders that I completely missed the beauty of the horses. Scott's skill and talent is really on display here.
DeleteThat's Autumn Brown over Brown Iron Oxide. It comes out a little lighter than it would over black.
DeleteOutstanding work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, AJ. More to come!
DeleteDashingly delicious eye candy, Scott!
ReplyDeleteI have some Blue Moon figures to paint for myself, and they have the dolman AND pelisse visible. Those should be even more colorful!
DeleteThe amount of jealousy I am feeling cannot be measured by any of mans modern tools and methods.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
Lord Ashram
Thanks!
