This morning I put the finishing touches on the first cavalry for Glenn's Russian army. Here are 66 Cossacks. I tried to vary the trousers a bit to give them a motley touch, but they are mostly well uniformed.

Wow! That is an impressive sight! I could use a couple dozen of those fine fellows.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jon. They were a challenge to paint well.
DeleteThey look terrific!
ReplyDeleteVery fierce and wild,
Thanks, Glenn! There are a LOT of these. How do you handle them in the rules? I think the official rules have the Russian player roll at the beginning of a scenario. Based on that roll they can use cossacks and militia to beef up some regular units with extra blocks. That way they have more staying power.
DeleteIn my rules, they are less effective cavalry (fewer attack dice as they hesitated to charge home, and more likely to rout).
DeleteCossacks are my favorite ineffective troops. You've done a great job at making them look irregular while still looking quite posh thanks to the quality paint jobs.
ReplyDeleteThanks, AJ! Now I am moving on to the dragoons, who look much more spiffy.
DeleteThey look superb, love this kind of troops!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Phil! I am glad they turned out well.
DeleteLooking good
ReplyDeleteThank you, Paul!
