Freshly sealed this morning are these 18 cavalry reinforcements for Napoleon's guard! Before this commission I had never painted any Imperial Guardsmen. Now I am feeling quite expert.
This batch completes Glenn's reinforcements. On to the Prussians!
You have done a very fine paint job on them, well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you, sir!
DeleteThese really look the part! They will really shine at Austerlitz in April.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! If I cannot make it, you will have to send pictures.
DeleteVery cool, Scott! Hard to pick a favorite. They all are splendid!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jon! I think I like the lancers the best.
DeletePerfect job sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Phil!
DeleteThey look great, Scott! The facing color of the (presumably 1st/"Polish") Chevau-leger Lanciers does seem a bit off to me. It is usually depicted as a deep crimson shade with a slightly purplish hue, while these appear mnore of a light lilac color. It may be the lighting, and/or the psychometric effects of colors when painting smaller figures, though.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Maybe it is a bit light, but my sources show it as a purple. Darker than this, to be sure.
