The fellows at Little Wars TV inspired me with their Antietam game to give 6mm ACW a try. I already have armies in 28mm, 15mm, and 10mm. Did I really need to start a 6mm collection as well? No, not really, but I am having fun with it.
These 16 guns and 64 crew are the first of the project to clear the painting desk.
Today I am working on Confederate generals and artillery.
Great start to a new project. Which figures are you using for this project?
ReplyDeleteThey are Baccus. It took a long time to get them, but they are easy to paint.
DeleteVery, very impressive, Scott. You manage to make 6mm look like a much larger scale with your talented brushwork.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dean. I may keep with the two tones, or I may switch to a simpler scheme for the rank and file.
DeleteThey came out very well. Professionally peaking, though, I have to question the sanity of a man who already has ACW troops in 4 other scales doing them in yet a fifth scale! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I make no claim to sanity. :-)
DeleteAwesome use of color and shading to bring out all the detail in the figures and make each side clearly identifiable. I've never had the chutzpah to try 6mm, but I love the look of the massed figures on the bases.
ReplyDeleteThey should be good looking armies. I do love the look of massed figures in smaller scales.
DeleteOh man, MORE figures for me to be jealous of!:)
ReplyDeleteAre you doing ACW in 6mm? I do seem to recall that you were looking for smaller buildings.
