It took a month, but I was able to finish these 448 figures. We have here sixteen brigades of Confederates, enough to play my Shiloh scenario.
I painted these in two tones, shade and highlight. The uniforms are a mixture of greys and butternuts.
Here is the complete Confederate army!
Most impressive, splendid mass effect!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Phil! I'm not sure about the mass effect, as 28 figures per brigade is LESS than we manage with good ol' Fire and Fury, but I do like painting these.
DeleteLovely job. 6mm is a fantastic scale with which to achieve a mass effect.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying them. We'll see if I decide to add to this project.
DeleteThey look EPIC! Great density of units on the bases, plenty of variation in the uniforms. Painting 6mm like this takes a high level of artistic skill. Beautiful force.
ReplyDeleteThanks, AJ! I am pleased with how they turned out. I got them to look mostly grey, but with enough variety to look like Confederates!
Delete6mm.......come on Scotty!! I'm starting to think about 54mm.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, you've done a fantastic job with this lot and as mentioned 6mm really does give an impression of grand battles. EPIC indeed.
54mm would be great for playing in the back yard, but my knees couldn't take it!
DeleteThese look fantastic and 6mm is a great scale for achieving excellent mass effect.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Thanks, Ross. The scale is definitely growing on me.
DeleteThose are amazing, Scott. I can't imagine putting that much detail in so cleanly in that scale.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dean. It was not too tough, really. The smaller size makes mistakes easier to hide!
DeleteStunning work. Enjoy the game!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am looking forward to playing. First, of course, I have to paint a Union army!
DeleteThey look great, Scott... even to this non 6 mm fan!
ReplyDeleteI was with you until recently. I am enjoying these, though.
DeleteSaw them on TMP. Superb work. And you did it in 1 month!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found them, Noel!
DeleteFantastic work Scott!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Many thanks, Christopher!
