1:72 Trojan Foot

Today I finished basing my 1:72 plastic Trojans.  These were quickie paint jobs, with the dip applied over them.

Now on to the Achaeans!

  1. They look pretty cool, Scott! Are chariots in the pipeline too?

  2. They're coming. The models are pretty fiddly, so I'll probably save them for last.

  3. Very nice! The dip works well on them. I'm a bit surprised to see you painting 1/72nd plastics - but your skills turn them out as good as any 28mm. Best, Dean

  4. Very nice! Scale armour came out particularly well.

  5. Really nice work! I love how the dip brought out the grain on those shields.

  6. Thanks! Dean, I wanted a quick and cheap option for these. I'll be using them with students, who easily get sticker shock ($2? Each? And I need a HUNDRED of them!?). With these plastics, I was able to but both forces, a total of 84 foot and 4 chariots with crews, for under $50.

I also need the figures to be somewhat . . . disposable. If a student picks up and throws one of my well painted metal units, I will be tempted to murder that student, which is against my state's professional standards for teachers. Also sometimes figures and vehicles walk away.

  8. Fantastic work. I am envious of your student group. I was asked to be the advisor for a gaming club at my high school, but the student officers are having issues organizing themselves...
