French Cuirassiers, WIP

I finished painting all my Greek light troops (112 of them), and I needed a distraction while basing.  These Perry Miniatures French cuirassiers fit the bill.

I have about 30 of these figures to paint.  I finished two riders in about three hours last night.

  1. Nice distraction and outstanding results! Does the Perry horse look a little undersized to you?

  2. Very nice. I agree the horse does look a little small to me, but I tend to view such things as an aesthetic decision on the part of the sculptor. Horses are such wonderfully huge creatures that we mere apes do tend to look tiddly alongside 'em. Yet 'gaming figures tend to be about the human component, so making "us" look bigger than "we" are is arguably reasonable. All that aside, lovely painting!

    1. Yes, agreed. Plus if horses were to scale, they would never fit on the bases!

  3. Impressive as always, Scott. Your "distractions" turn out to be masterpieces.

    1. Nothing looks smarter than French Napoleonic line infantry, cuirassiers, and artillery.
