Ah, heavy cavalry! I always like to mount my heavy cavalry on darker horses to make them look more menacing. Glenn has decided to add some more bases to these, so the Prussian army is not quite done, but it's very close.
Cuirassiers
1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Cuirassiers
Mr. Barton has sculpted these figures in their dark blue Litewka, which they would have worn in the field. Only the officer is depicted in white coat.
Dragoons
1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Dragoons
The Dragoons wore a light blue Litewka, and sources depict that shade everything from a sky blue to a deep cornflower. I settled for the middle ground, painting Delta's "Liberty Blue" over their "Blueberry."
I'm just waiting on a Eureka order, and I will paint up the rest of the cavalry.
I really love that the Cuirassier Officer is in white and the rest are in blue litewkas. It's the perfect representation.
ReplyDeleteVery majestic, and menacing.
Paintjobs are perfect in every way.
Thank you, sir! I look forward to adding to them.
DeleteBeautiful work yet again Scott!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks, Christopher! I had fun with these.
DeleteVery handsome, horsemen, Scott!
ReplyDelete"Liberty Blue" is a color I have not seen. I may look for it next time I visit the hobby store.
I am not sure they make it any more. I bought this bottle about ten years ago, and it's just about gone.
DeleteOf the current colors, it's closest to Cape Cod Blue.
Cape Code Blue, I have!
