50 Shades of ... Butternut

Another month, another commission. These 198 Rebel infantry are the start of a Confederate army for Carl.

The flags are from Maverick Models and are printed on cloth. I gave them a PVA glue wash. Once they are dry, I will try cutting them.

These figures are all 15mm Blue Moon, and they are as full of character as I remember! Carl's instructions were to make them ragged and bright.

Carl is undecided yet on which size base to use, 25mm or 30mm squares.

  1. Lovely job. I think the 30mm base gives the figures just the right amount of space to breathe.

  2. Hi Scott. I've been considering purchasing the cloth flags myself. What do you think of them? Other than the glue/water wash, is any other prep required? Do they look/go together well? Thank you.

    1. They look OK. I prefer the paper flags. I did not have much trouble gluing them together, but the edges did tend to fray a bit.
