15mm Chassuers a Cheval

I have started a new 15mm Napoleonics commission, this time for John in Australia. I am just painting French and British armies for him, but each will be about the same size as the forces I painted for Glenn.

First off the painting bench are three regiments of Chasseurs a Cheval. AB figures were a joy to paint, of course!

I painted all the light cavalry horses at once, so lancers, hussars, and dragoons should show up on the blog pretty soon.

1/72 Napoleonic Russian Cuirassiers

When I was painting the 1/72 Seven Years War armies, I enjoyed the Zvezda artillery set so much that I decided to try my hand at some more of their figures. These 1812 Russian cuirassiers fit the bill!

I think they look great, although without a polyester coating, I'm not sure how resilient they will be on the tabletop.

A Few GIs

A close friend visited me about a month ago, with his two teenage boys in tow. They are avid Dungeons and Dragons players who wanted to try their hands at painting miniatures. I was, of course, happy to help out! While they painted their mages and fighters, I worked on some 28mm WWII Americans from Black Tree Designs.

 

As always, the Black Tree figures painted up very easily. A brush application of Minwax Polyshades created some instant shading. This was a fun little side project.

40mm ACW Rebels

With the completion of these 40mm rebs, Carl's Union army will finally have an opponent! Flags are on their way, but in the meantime, here are 106 foot and two mounted figures plus a 12-pdr Napoleon. All figures are from Sash and Saber.

 

15mm Napoleonic Brunswick Artillery

Back when I was painting Glenn's giant Napoleonic commission, a reader let me know that Campaign Game Miniatures made purpose-sculpted Brunswicker artillery men of both the foot and horse variety.

Years later, I was able to put some paint on these and base them. Two batteries of Brunswick artillery is all any gamer is likely to ever need, which is a shame, because these figures look great and were super easy to paint.
