It has been a long time since I painted any 15mm Civil War troops. These are all Union infantry, shoulder arms, in light kit from Blue Moon's excellent line.
I went for two tones on most of the colors. This was a fun little project, and it was nice to bang out this many troops in just a week.

ReplyDeleteThat's very impressive for one weeks work. They look great, very well done.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a bug in our club? Latest buzz has been Sam Mustafa's announcement of Longstreet, and debates over what scale to do it in; there's a bold group of partisans feverishly defending precisely these figures. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteWow - impressive looking unit. Fantastic quantity and quality as usual, Scott. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteGreat work! I love Blue Moon's stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of figures in week and looking good too.

Great looking figures. No one churns out more figures. I can only dream of finishing 75 15's in one week.
ReplyDeleteGood job!
Scott:
ReplyDeleteWhat size bases are you using? I currently put 6 ACW figures (2 rows of 3, just like you) on either 30mm square or 1.25" square (1.25" is ever so slightly bigger than 30mm)using other 15mm ACW figures (mostly Old Glory 15's). The new Blue Moon figures are nice and I'm thinking of using them for any new projects (like maybe Naps), But I know that they are pretty big (ie - 18mm as they say) so I'm wondering if I can still get 6 of 'em on a 1.25" square base...
Dave, these bases are 25mm frontage and 15mm depth.
ReplyDeleteThere are quite of few Blue Moon 'Confederate' figures (with slouch hats and blanket rolls) that can be inserted into the Union ranks for a bit more variety. Several of these even have federal-style sack coats instead of shell jackets.
