After finishing the brown ballast and applying a glue wash to keep it secured to the base, I started attaching the static grass and rocks. This is the final step before the figures get packed up for shipment. I'm about halfway through the Union army now.
Artillery: 10 guns and 30 crew
oh my.. oh my eye.. simply beautiful work of art Scott, well done sir!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great job, i love the way the dis mounted cavalry looks. By the way I got some old glory awi 2nd edition continentals (inspired by your fantastic job on them) but i don't have the right colors for the continental regulars. I know that you use ceramcoats, and I'm wondering if you remembered the colors you used for that blue on the coat.

It would be a big help for me if you could mention them. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAaron, for the Continentals I basecoated with Delta's Manganese Blue, then mixed my own highlight by adding some Liberty Blue.
ReplyDeleteManganese Blue is hard to find, and I think Navy Blue would work just as well.
If you're not keen on mixing your own highlight, you could use Blueberry instead. That's what I did with these Union troops.
Okay, thanks for the help Scott, and I'll try to pick those up at michaels tomorrow, if not I'll try eBay. I think I'll try both highlights and see what I like the best. Once again great job and thanks.
